In a self-organized internet event, Japanese fans have dubbed elective power conservation methods as “Operation Yashima.”  For those of you not Evangelion fans, this is when all of Japan voluntarily blacked itself out for NERV to power a particle accelerator rifle to kill an Angel.  As a result, several Japanese fan-operated sites are shutting down, like Circle.ms, a website used for online registration of doujinshi circles.  I have also been informed that Square-Enix has shut down Final Fantasy XI and XIV server farms.  Akiba-station.com is not hosted in Japan, and will remain online.  Thanks fandom, fight on!
