Hayao Miyazaki will be receiving the second Berkeley Japan Prize for lifetime achievement from the Center for Japanese Studies at University of California Berkeley on July 25th. The first Berkeley Japan Prize was awarded to novelist Haruki Murakami in October 2008. There will also be a discussion between Miyazaki and noted scholar Roland Kelts, but the details are unannounced at the moment.
